The TIP is coming soon

Hey, guys, as usual, every year I go to India and Singapore and this time, one of my favorite cousins, Joe, is going to be in the same plane as me.....YAY. I'll be gone in December the 12th and I don't know when I'll be back. We have a parade for Christmas in India. We don't really have much traditions. I mean, we treat Christmas like a normal day except for the greetings and the Midnight Mass. Anyway, about my 'famous' TIP(The Indian Post), I will only do it if you all want me to do it. So comment: The TIP is awesome, if you want to do it. This is probably my last blog post (unless you guys want me to do the TIP) :(.

COLLAGE/HIGH SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, peeps, I will be talking about how I'M GOING TO SURVIVE IN COLLAGE OR HIGH SCHOOL or whatever BUT STILL. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. St. Pats seems like a really nice school and I have school and personal friends there so I think I'll be fine. The things I will try to achieve next year will be to make many friends and try to be a good student in Year 9. The things I'm really looking forward to is the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device). Another thing is making new friends and expriencing "the BROTHERHOOD." The things that will be challenging is educating my teachers about my FM. I probably have a few classes so on the first day, I will be quite busy :). I'm really going to miss my favourite and famous in Rm 12 (sniff) :(.

My speech

So I will be talking about how my speech went in school. My speech topic was which is better, THE book or THE movie? As usual, I was feeling nervous but when I said the introduction, everything just went smoothly. I think I did a few mistakes which were unnoticeable but I did one big mistake. I don't want to say it because it's a bit embarrassing. My favourite speeches are currently: Ben P ( How to win in the speech..... against Xara!), Anthony (Marvel or DC?), Katerina (Dreams), Catherine (YouTube) and James (Marvel Movies).

GONE

“One minute the teacher was talking about the Civil War. And the next minute he was gone. There. Gone. No 'poof.' No flash of light. No explosion.”

GONE is a thrilling book about kids stuck in a messed world with no rules and there seems to be no escape and no rules means chaos. All the adults are gone but not kids up to the age of 15. That meant that kids who reaches their 15th birthday (if they're still alive),they'll be GONE. The main character,Sam,is trying to stop all this madness along with Astrid (his girlfriend), Edillo (his trusty sidekick) and Quinn (his best friend). Caine (a power loving villain) tries to take over the FAYZ(Fallout Alley Youth Zone) along with his 'girlfriend' Diana and his evil sidekick, Drake. So Sam and his friends tries to stop them. But there's all kinds of weird everywhere like there seems to be a evil force nicknamed The Darkness trying to kill them all and kids developing powers like super-speed and healing powers and much more. But most of all, Astrid's younger autistic brother, Little Pete, seems that he is involved in this FAYZ thing and is really more dangerous than he seems.........

What I really loved about the book was that it was so well written that it was put-down able. There's a balance of violence, romance, supernatural events, twists and suspense. I'd really recommend this for kids who love supernatural stuff and violence. This would probably be for kids 12 and over. This book has characters that you will love or hate.

My favorite character is Caine as I like his villainous personality and how he's really smart. He's more of a 'brains above brawn' kind of guy.

"These are exciting, high-tension stories told in a driving, torrential narrative that never lets up. There are monsters, there are kids with mad-crazy super powers, there’s the mystery of where all the adults went. Most of all, there are children I can believe in and root for. This is great fiction." -Stephen King

SPEECH

Hey, everyone, I'm back. Apparently, we are supposed to talk about our speech. I don't really want to say my topic but it has something to do with movies and books. I'm feeling a bit nervous but I've had experience so I should be fine. Also, I'm a bit excited to see how my speech will go and who will get into the finals.

Thanks for reading.

INTERESTING SPACE

Hello, guys,I will now talk about what I'm interested in space. We learn't that the Sun is going to 'blow up' in 2 billion years. Good thing I'll be dead. Apparently, the sun is expanding into a red giant star so once it expands, it burn about Mercury, Venus, EARTH and Mars. Scientists are now looking whether there are other planets that we could go to before the sun 'blows up.'

Question of the week: Do you think the Sun will actually 'blow up.'

MY HOLIDAYS......

The last 2 weeks were my school holidays. I did a couple of things during the holidays. One of them is playing with a couple of friends who live across the street. Another one was that I went to a 3 course bible class. I know what you thinking but it turned out to be pretty fun. My family also Napier. My family's really with my neighbor's family so they came along too. That was a really fun experience.

PRODUCTION IS FINISHED!!!

Finally, Production is finished. My school's Production is called 'AGENTS OF S.P.A.C.E.' I've got one of the main roles (there are 6 main roles). My character was Jerry. Jerry was one of Neon's faithful Henchmen. The other one was Krug. Jerry was the funny and dumb henchman who really liked bananas and mangos.

My performance was pretty good, although I could have done better. What I should have done was face the audience a lot more. Other than that, the night went pretty well. There were a few mishaps but I don't think there's anything called  a perfect production.

PRODUCTION NERVES

HELLO, BLOG FANS, now, at this instant moment, you will read about (drum roll please) my PRODUCTION. You see, there are 6 main rolls and I'm in one of them! I'm Neon's special' henchman. I should probably stop talking about my production roll. Anyway what I'm talkin' about my reaction towards the production.

I'm nervous and excited and scared. Although, I'm pretty sure that everybody is feeling like. Thursday is my 'on-night.' On the other hand, Wednesday is my 'off-night.' My dad is going to drop me off at 6 p.m. at both nights, Wednesday and Thursday.

The people who's coming to watch is obviously my parents and my little sister. I really want to make them proud and my sister to say "Chetta" while I'm acting. You're probably wondering what 'Chetta' means. It means 'Brother' in my mother-tongue.

What time is it?.....IT'S ELECTION TIME

This week, in this post, I am going to say what I learned for Election and Parliament stuff. I've been in the 'Beehive'(also known as the Parliament) before so I know a little bit about Parliament stuff like:

  1. Every 3 years, the party and electoral vote happens.
  2. It usually happens on a Saturday.
  3. In the US, it normally happens on a Tuesday (CRAZY).
  4. There are 120 seats in the Parliament.
  5. Winston Peters was the first Prime Minister of New Zealand.
  6. The youngest ever person to be elected is James Frederick Stuart Wortleywho was 20 years old at that time.
  7. You have to be over 18 to vote.
  8. You also have to register to vote (of course, when you're 18 or above).
I know a lot more but I didn't want to drone on and on and on....anyway, for our topic (BTW, it's Elections 2014), we get to go to the Parliament. So I'm pretty excited for that event and I'm going to learn a lot more stuff when my class talks about Elections.

READING ROCKS

READING INDEED ROCKS (guitar solo)......Keep on reading this post if you think that reading dies rock (guitar solo).

The challenges I've done so far is the Random Challenge (my book was GONE(it is an awesome book)), the Family Challenge which is the one where my dad recommended this old book named Cheaper by the Dozen. I really enjoyed that book and I'm almost done on my 10 Book Challenge.

I'm aiming for the 20 Book Challenge where you have to read 20 books in one term, the Classic Challenge which is the one where you have to read a classic book like Treasure Island or Kidnapped etc. and the Series Challenge. For this Challenge, you have to read two books in a series. This is the Challenge that I'm really passionate about because I'm reading the GONE series ( BTW, there are more than 3 books). I finished GONE and now I'm almost finished HUNGER. Then I have to read LIES. When I finish the GONE series, I'm going to start the BZRK series which is by the same author as the GONE series (Micheal Grant is the author). I've also read another book by the same author which is called EVE & ADAM.

Thanks for reading this post by the one and only, JMK.

DODGEBALL IS THE BEST

I....am .....going.....to......act......as......a.....lawyer.......to convince that Dodge ball is the best (not really, but Dodge ball is actually the best). For people that does not like Dodge ball, don't worry, there's loads more games, I'm not going to judge you and stop reading this post. But for people that likes Dodge ball, you have to continue reading. Same for people that are new to Dodge ball, keep on reading........

The seriously good things about this game is that it's great for a quick game or a reward activity. Rm 12 and 11's version is different than the American Dodge ball version. Here are some tips

There are two ways to get out (you can get back in), 1: getting hit by someone and 2: getting caught.
The way you win the game is to have the most people in your side.
Don't stand still, keep on moving each side to confuse them.
If there is an opportunity to catch, then catch. If you drop it, too bad, at least you tried, but if you do catch, then there's a bonus.
You have to catch it on the full then it counts.

It might sound like a simple game. It may be simple but it is seriously fun. I guarantee you that. The thing that makes it fun is those thrilling moment, where your whole side depends on you to catch. The skills you learn is pretty much catching and throwing.

DANCE, LINES, DANCE,PANIC (hopefully not).

"Sometimes I feel like I've got to, dun, dun." You're probably wondering what that sentence means. That's one of the lines from the song I'm dancing to for the production(Tainted Love). Well, one of the songs. You see, I'm Jerry, one of Neon's henchmen. And you know what that means. I GOT ONE OF THE 6 MAIN ROLES!!!!! I'm going quite well with my lines. I basically all of them but there's some lines that I get mixed up.

Because I'm posting, clap along if you feel like a person reading.

Hey guys, I'm back form a 2 week holiday. We will now talk about (drum-roll please) my 2 favorite songs.
No. 1 is Happy (you probably guessed form the title). The reason I like this song is not just catchy, it makes me feel happy. Pharell Williams is the singer.
No.2 is probably a song you haven't heard of. It's from South India. It's called Bangalore Days Wedding Song - Maangalyam. My sister and I love this song. It's from the South Indian movie- Bangalore Day. The reason I like this song is because it.....is......AWESOME!!!!

Art Piece

This is my Art piece >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

What media did I use to make this?

I used permanent marker, dye and pencil.

What is this about?

The creature that is about the tomb is actually Anubis. Anubis is the god of the dead. So that's pretty much why he is on the tomb.

What do I like about?

I like the colour and the hieroglyphics to make the middle painting stand out.

What do I don't like about?

One thing I don't like about this painting is that I put too much dye on the hieroglyphics.

Thanks for reading.

EGYPT TIME

This week, we are going to talk about(wait for it) EGYPT!!!

What have you learnt about it?
I have learnt a lot of stuff about Ancient Egypt. One of them is about Anubis. Are you thinking what I'm thinking......
DID YOU KNOW:
  • Anubis is the god of the dead
  • His father was originally Ra. As the stories change, Osiris was his father.
  • He decided whether an Egyptian's soul would go to the underworld or get eaten by Ammit.
  • Priests used to wear masks of Anubis's face.
What activity did you learn the most of?
I learnt a lot by Anthony's group activity. We had to play dogdeball. I was an Archer. It was really fun and I enjoyed it.

What activity did you enjoy the most?
I enjoyed the dodgeball game by Anthony's group. Well, partly because I like dogdeball. I liked the way they changed to be a bit like a war.

GYMNASTICS in NAIRNVILLE

Hello, everybody, welcome to the JMK blog. This week we will talk about GYMNASTICS in Nairnville. To be honest, I haven't enjoyed it but I have some lessons that I liked. One of the equipment was the trampoline. That I liked.

For people who don't what Nairnville is, Nairnville is a fitness center where you have to exercise. My class goes there every Thursday. The routine of gymnastics is that we start of with a warm up game. My favorite is Mayhem. After that, we do streches. Next we go into groups and we have different obstacles. There is a timer. once the timer finishes, we switch and it's back to square one.

This is our last week of Gymnastics in Nairnville. I hope we are going to start Basketball. Last week, I improved on the rings. It was a miracle. :).

Question for the week: What do you think my class is going to do next week in Nairnville.

A MUSICAL DAY

You must be wondering what this post is about, right? It's about my music class. Mrs Cameron teaches my class music. I enjoy music a lot. Anyway, the things that I learned in my music class are:

1: I learned how many beats a dotted semi breve has. To find out, a semi breve is 4 beats so half it. Half of 4(2) is the dot. So 4 + 2 = 6. Same with dotted crochet or dotted minim. So I learned a little bit about maths too :)!

2: I learned how to spell minim and crotchet.

3: I learned how to play on the gramophone.

So there was three things I learned in a day. Everyday I learn something new. I play keyboard so I am in the higher group but we get more work which is quite sad :( . I also know a lot of "Musical stuff".

I will be able to remember this stuff because I play keyboard so that will help me remember what I learned. Learning about musical notes is called theory.

Question for the week: What is the one of the most important thing you have learnt?

*Static* My planes's going to crash *Static*

 http://booktrailers.bennybandz.com/images/thehatchetcover.jpg

My book group is Hatchet. The people in my group are Sam A, Ben P, Thomas, Joseph R and me.

Some things that went well was that we had a technique including the FM. The FM is an microphone which helps me hear better because I have hearing aids. You have to put your hand up and I will give you my FM and you talk about the book. So that stopped us from talking over each other. We also unlocked crackers. so that is a good sign.

Some things that didn't go well, to be honest, was that some people forgot to do their book discussion notes. That is the only thing I can think of.

I think that I've gained lots from this experience. One of them is that I've been able to read even faster than usual. Another one is that I've now read another book to add to my reading log.

HARRY POTTER (spoilers)

As everybody would have predicted, I'm writing about Harry Potter and the philosophizer's . Dun dun dun. I started reading Harry Potter when I was 9.

Title: Harry Potter

Author: JK Rowling

Plot:
It is about a boy who's parents (Just like Batman) are killed by a villain named
Voldemort(Dun dun dun). When Harry's 10 years old, he finds out that he is a wizard!!!
Then he goes to a school called Hogwarts.

My favourite part of this book is when Professor Quirull took off his turban (when I said spoilers, I meant it).

I'd recommend this book 5 stars (*****)!!!!!!

Holidays!!!!!!!!!

Hey, peeps, I'm here to talk about my HOLIDAYS!!! I went to the Porirua Pool and the Aotea Lagoon with my friend;Savio. I woke up at 8:00 a.m. and got ready at 9:00 a.m. Savio & family came to pick us up at 9:45 a.m. We reached Aotea Lagoon and unloaded our scooters. I told Savio that bicycles are better than scooters. He agreed. We played cricket in the park.

When it was time to leave, we went straight to Burger King. After that,we went to Porirua Pool.

We reached the pool by 1:30 p.m.We got inside and paid for our admission.Savio and Me played Volleyball and Cricket. Mostly Cricket. Our sisters were playing together. Our moms were talking constantly. We went on the Hydroslide. We kept on playing until 4:00.

When we left, Savio dropped us at our house. That was a pretty fun day. Do you agree?

Mission Fair

Hello, peeps, my name is Joseph Mathew Kulathinal and I am going to talk to you about my Mission Fair. I was with Ben P, Rebecca and Elizabeth. Ben P, Penny(our librarian) and me went to get hot chips from the fish 'n' chips place in Khandallah. It's near the Hell pizza shop.

Once we got back, we started at 11:30 and all the hot chips was sold pretty quickly. We raised $148.10! I think what we could do better would be to get a lot of stuff if it is a good money spinner like sausage sizzle or Hot Chips.

HARRY POTTER AND THIS POST!!!!!

I really love watching TV (who doesn't?). I am currently obsessed with The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, The Simpsons and Harry Potter. For the first time in TV 2, they are showing all of the Harry Potter movies. All of them. Including the Deathly Hallows. They are showing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 this week. I can't wait.

I also like 'raiding the cupboard' as my parents says. That means I like to eat all the junk food. From the cupboard. Especially Popcorn. I often eat junk food everyday, pretty much.

Thanks for reading. Comment if you like Harry Potter.
Even if you don't, please comment.

THE WORST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO ME( if you want to know what it is, then read this post)!!!!

The answer is CAMP IS OVER!!!!!! Just please don't mind the tears please :( . Anyway, OPC Camp was really fun. OPC(Outdoor Pursuit Centre) is actually the short version of TSEHOPCNZ (The Edmund Hillary Outdoor Pursuit Centre of New Zealand). Now let's get on to the important parts.

The thing I found most challenging was abseiling because it was starting to get into my stretch zone really badly but I still archived to get through it :). The thing I found easy was Caving and High Ropes because there were really one of favorite activities. Things that I expected was that a few people would 'chicken out' in High Ropes but I was quite impressed in how they believed in themselves and manged to get through it.

My proudest moment was getting through these activities while being confident and part of it was making everybody laugh with the microwave joke. If you don't know what it is, please ask me at school.

My favorite moment was  Kayaking, Caving, Abseiling, High Ropes and Dinner. The reason these are my favorite moments is because I had so much fun while doing that, I mean imagine doing all of this without school or homework. 'Sigh'.

Well, that was a week I will never forget. :) .

THE BEGINNING

2014........It's a new year. It's the year when I am Yr 8. Technically, it wasn't really quite what I expected because I had to do more chores and exercise, thanks to OPC.

Oh and guess what, I made a new friend named Calvin and when I got to seat on the chairs at assembly, it was a whole new world for me. I mean, it was so comfy......

As usual, I am coping with the tasks quite well. My task management is also going well.

Dodge ball......The greatest game ever, next to Soccer and Cricket. Dodgeball is a game where you have to avoid getting hit. So if you are hit by the ball, you will have to join the line. If someone catches the ball, the first person in your line(your teammate)gets in. It's way better than the Hunger Games.

Speaking of The Hunger Games, I just finished the 1st and 2nd book. I'd prefer reading the 1st, which is the best. I've just started Mokinjay which is the 3rd book.

Thanks for Reading :)

Pls comment.
